I am a 49 year old female. Last December I was diagnosed Stage II Breast cancer, they found a micro- metastases in my lymph node on the affected side. I had lumpectomy and lymph node surgery in January, followed by 8 weeks of radiation, no chemotherapy. Since about April I have been experiencing a stabbing pain in my lower back, the exact same spot each time. It only lasts a few seconds and dissipates. But it recurs often, several times a day. This morning alone is has been occurring several times per hour. My medical oncologist thinks it must be muscular. is it possible to experience nerve damage in my back from lymph node surgery?
I am treating a similar case as yours and she is having the sane back stabbing pain…it is caused by muscular incision and cold weather changes.
Just physiotherapy and warming the area will resolve it.
Nerve damage is possible but it has manifestation which is not present.

In my opinion it is not related , it is possibly a disc lesion
I recommend an MRI to confirm
Also did you have any epidural injection to take spinal fluid sample?

it may or may not be related to the surgery performed.
if the surrounding nerves were damaged to a large extent during the surgery,then this can cause radicular pain in back.
however,other causes for back pain need to be ruled out.
Get a mri done.

STRETCHING EXERCISES WITH MUSCLE RELAXANT TABLETS WILL HELP.
LOCAL MASSAGE WITH OLIVE OIL DAILY,BEFORE GOING TO BED WILL BE HELPFUL.

this can be due to neuropathic pain,a compressed nerve in neck or fibromyalgia.
application of local gel,hot fomentation and local steroid injection shot can help.
get a mri of the painful part done.
