Do I require surgery ?

My CT Scans results are as follows:
There is polypoidal mucosal thickening present within both maxillary sinuses. This is more severe in the right maxillary sinus.
There is associated occlusion of the right OMU.
There is slight attenuation also demonstrated of the left OMU.
A deviated nasal septum is seen to the left hand side.
Thickening is seen of the right middle and inferior nasal turbinates.
Mucosal thickening is also present in the frontal and anterior ethmoid air cells with occlusion noted of the right fronto-ethmoidal recess.
The left fronto-ethmoidal recess is patent.
The sphenoid sinus and the spheno-ethmoidal recesses are patent.
No air fluid levels are visualised.
The visualised bones and orbits are normal.
The posterior nasal space and the oropharynx is normal.

Yes surgical treatment is necessary if Medical treatment fails which should include 3-6 weeks of antibiotics, nasal steroids, and nasal saline irrigations.

hi,
yes, there are many issues in your case, that usually do not respond to medical line of treatment.

You do need surgical interventions.Endoscopic results are known to have better results than open surgeries.
Thanks

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain as there are a number of problems associated and one symptom can exaggerate the other, therefore my suggestion is that you should consult an ENT Surgeon and get evaluated and you can opt for ENDOSCOPIC AINUS SURGERY along with septoplasty for the Deviated septum and meditation like a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkillers, decongestants, steroid inhalation can help..

Wish you a better health .

Regards..
