Had a vasectomy done, very painful, was it done properly?

47, Male-
Went in for vasectomy, during procedure;
Right testicle went perfect & painless.
Left testicle procedure was extremely painful.
Afterward left side was very bloody & Left testicle is very swollen.
Went back in 4 days later; Dr says- no infection- most likely a hematoma but will clear up in time.
Why was my procedure so painful?
Should get ultrasound?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Vasectomy is male sterilisation procedure and is a method of male birth control..
This process prevents release of sperms when man ejaculates..
Pain post procedure can be due to inflammation that can be common post a surgical procedure..
However infection can also be a cause..
So my suggestion is to wait for another 3-4 days and see if it improves..

Hope this helps..

Regards.

Hi..
I would also suggest you to take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen, do cool compresses over the area and elevate using pillows..

In case if you still do not find improvement in another one week then proceed for further investigation..

Wish you soon recovery..

Regards..
