I am a 26 year old female who has ADHD and OCD, adderall is causing some problems?

I am a 26 year old female who has ADHD and OCD. I have been prescribed adderall for almost 10 years now and I love it. Over the course of time we have has to up my dosage due to it wearing off too quickly. My current dosage is 30mg BID. Recently I have noticed that my ADHD has really gotten out of hand. I cannot think straight. I am forgetting thoughts mid sentence, starting tasks and getting distracted leaving SO many things unfinished. The list could go on but these things have left me very anxious and chaotic. I need to get back to being able to think about what I need to do and actually be able to do it instead of getting overwhelmed. I don’t want to come off adderall but was wondering if anything could be added with and be taken together? Just trying to get more information before bringing this up to my PCP who does not know a lot about treating ADHD. I don’t have good insurance and my pediatrician was originally the one who put me on adderall. My PCP now just continues to write my prescription because I was already on it when I became her patient and it has worked fine all this time. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you

hi,
if aderall is doing good for you you can just titrate the dosage and continue with it,instead of adding other medicines to it to prevent drug interactions.
Cognitive therapy with yoga and meditation will be helpful.
Consult a psychiatrist.
thanks

In my opinion ,using adderall on BID basis is not going to help you now as its effect for controlling ADHD symptoms works for 4-6hours and that is the problem causing your symptoms to increase ,I recommend shifting to adderall XR under a specialist supervision as it works for 12-18 hours.

Hi
adderall should not be the drug of choice from the beginning , it is addictive which means you will keep increasing the dose then effect will keep fading , this is bit of challenge really , you can ask your pcp to put you on a long lasting alternative with slowly lowering adderall
Good Luck

Hi..
First of all consult a Psychologist or a Psychiatrist and get properly evaluated..

The dose of Addrell can be increased in frequency of intake that is 3-4 times a day followed by proper counseling and techniques to improve concentration and focus..

Hope this helps..

I do not think that ur PvP can prescribe you an add-on try or even an alternative, unfortunately u need to have a psychiatrist, however, u now have 2 options, to increase the dose, and to go for cognitive-behavioral therapy, or talk therapy, seems especially helpful for adults with ADHD, it’s more imp. Than medical ttt…
U need a psychiatrist as I May have another problem other than ADHD
HOPE THIS HELPS 🙂
