I have elevated Creatine phosphokinase (CPK) and Sed rate (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) along with muscle soreness and pain?

Elevated CPK and Sed Rate along with muscle soreness and pain.

For the last 11 months I’ve had varying degrees of muscle soreness and pain. My CPK rate was 1276 last July and has been between 300-700 for the last 10 months. My peak sed rate was 35 and has never gone below 20 in the last 11 months. 35 year old male. Had electro muscle test that came back negative. It’s not debilitating but it’s annoying and painful on some days.

Hi
This Is myositis, so you may need a muscle biopsy to identify which type and to begin treatment
Also what you question here?
Good Luck

this is most probably myositis , i recommend muscle biopsy and ultrasound treatment, laser therapy and massage.

The increase in the CPK is common in your muscle inflammatory condition

I recommend you to undergo full neurological and musculoskeletal examination before going any further

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Creatine phosphokinase is an enzyme found prominently in heart muscles, skeletal muscles and brain tissue..
So any problems associated with any of these can cause elevated levels..
But as you also have muscle soreness it is pointing towards Myositis that is inflammation of the muscle..
It can be due to causes like infection, autoimmune disease or trauma..
So get a muscle biopsy done for ruling out the exact cause and then only treatment can be advised appropriately..

Hope this helps..
