I have trouble breathing and I am coughing an awful lot, also my arm becomes uncomfortably numb and it’s even worse when I go into a coughing fit?

I am coming up to 18 years of age., I am asthmatic and have been diagnosed with Anxiety and Depression. The only medication I have to take are my inhalers – Seretide Accuhaler and the salbutamol Easyhaler.

So I have been ill for about a week now with what my mum thinks might be the flu but I had my flu vaccination 6 weeks ago so I don’t think it’s that and this is the fifth time in the last 2 months that I have been ill.
I have trouble breathing and I am coughing an awful lot, also my arm becomes uncomfortably numb and it’s even worse when I go into a coughing fit. I’m rather concerned because it’s not the first time it has happened and each time the pain gets worse.
What could be the problem?

My opinion is your dry high intensity frequent cough causes muscle spasm in your neck and an impinged nerve supplying your arms are compressed while coughing ..
Try breathing humid air.
Drink warm fluids.
Get a neck xray to check for cervical rib or neck impinged nerve.

Seretide Accuhaler and the salbutamol Easyhaler can cause low immunity leading to flu even if you recently had the vaccination
I recommend you explore this possibility first before getting worried
Good Luck

hi
your symptoms seem to be out from severe bronchospasms.
use bronchodilator inhalors.
deep breathing exercises, hot saline water gargles will help.
possibility of a impinged spinal nerve in the cervical spine needs a consideration

HI
THIS CAN BE DUE TO SEVERE BRONCHITIS AND ONSET OF BRONCHIAL ASTHMA.
GET A SPIROMETRY DONE TO ASSESS LUNG FUNCTIONS.
TAKE BRONCHODILATORS AND NEBULISERS.
METHYCOBAL AND PREGABALIN TABLETS WILL HELP NUMNESS IN THE ARMS

hello there
respiratory bronchitis ( chronic ) with a nerve impingement in the neck area can cause such symptoms.
both causes need a different treatment approach.
get hrct chest for respiratory causes and a xray of neck
