Small thrombus in distal right pulmonary artery should i start taking Xarelto (Rivaroxaban)?

The CT Scan Pulmonary Angio reads “small thrombus in distal right pulmonary artery at its bifurcation as described above minimally comprising the lumen”. My question is should i start taking Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) as prescribed by the doctor or should ask doctor to prescribe more safe drug considering the side effect profile of the drug?

In my opinion,if you do not have sensitivity to rivaroxaban or you are taking any drugs that interfere with its action ,you should start it as the side effects are common with most blood thinners ,unless you get any change that can be a side effect..

Hi
In my opinion you should start on Rivaroxaban as all ulternative blood thinner drugs have almost same side effects , actually Rivaroxaban can be considered safer than others drugs like warfarin for example
Good Luck

Hi,
in appropriate and minimal doses,Rivaroxaban has pretty good tolerance.
Regular check ups with PT/INR and BT/CT levels should be safe.
All other alternative drugs will have more or less similar side effects.
thanks

Hi..
Yes, you can take Xarelto for the thrombus in pulmonary artery and is considered safer in this condition..
Consult your treating Physician and take the medication in appropriate doses only after proper prescription..
