My daughter is 3 years old and has reflux in her kidneys, she has a high temp and has been complaining of a bad stomach and back could this be a sign of a kidney infection?

Hi and welcome to question doctors.com actually kidney reflux in children is an important issue that needs medical attention and if she was diagnosed already Wiz kidney reflux then she needs Swift medical attention because this Maybe a sign of kidney infection which is very dangerous and needs to be treated as soon as possible she will need to run out kidney function test and urine analysis test maybe also a urine culture

At this age,kidney infection (glomerulonephritis) is quite common and needs prompt diagnosis and treatment. Get his urine checked and ultrasound abdomen done. Start appropriate antibiotics as per the doctor’s prescription. IV antibiotics have better results as compared to orals ones.
Give plenty of water to drink.

YES,THIS CAN BE KIDNEY OR AN URINARY TRACT INFECTION. GIVE PLENTY OF FLUIDS,FRUIT JUICES. AVOID PAIN KILLERS. GET URINE EXAMINED FOR CULTURE AND SENSITIVITY OF ORGANISMS AND START ON APPROPRIATE MEDICINES. KEEP A WATCH ON URINE OUTPUT. KEEP A INPUT – OUTPUT CHART IS POSSIBLE

Seems to be kidney infection but other similar abdominal conditions need to be ruled out. Get a abdominal scan done. If urinary infection is confirmed..antibiotics and anti inflammatory medicines will help control the infection
