For spider bites. when they bite. do they just draw blood, or are they also injecting venom? If infecting venom, what type of blood test should I get to see any damage done? I have aprx 40 bites, some small, some apx size of a dime. I have had 2 pest control people out, still getting bit. all I want to know is if a blood test will show any thing, if they are injecting venom.

Spiders may or may not inject venom in a bite. In most cases, spider bites will not puncture through the skin and reaction will remain superficial – keeping bite area clean and using cool compresses is sufficient. So no test is indicated and even possible. – except for some dangerous spiders. Only a handful of spider bites are dangerous. Best is to identify what kind of spiders bit you to rule out dangerous ones and monitor any symptoms you may develop. If you experience nausea, abnormal sweating, abdominal pain or skin develops abnormal purple reaction or ulcers, you should consult.
