I am 45 and in perimenopause. I no longer have regular periods. My last period was 6 months ago and it only lasted two days. I also have fibroids. Recently I have had a light brown discharge. I have only had the discharge in the morning. Just after I get up and usually nothing for the rest of the day. What causes this?

Light brown discharge in Perimenopause can be caused by small uterine vessels becoming fragile and bursting resulting in the brown discharge (old blood). Also Hormonal Changes and your Fibroids can also be a contributing factor. Perimenopause is a transitional period and light brown spotting should cease. If situation persists or a regular type discharge should follow, you should consult.
Hi.
Thanks for the query..
Once menopause begins some women may face a light bleeding once in a while which gradually completely ceases..
But as you have fibroids it can be a cause..
To be on a safer side a Sonography can be done..
If there sre no other symptoms and tge discharge does not happen again then there is nothing to worry..
You should also do walking and youga and maintain a healthy and nutritious diet..
Thanks.
