I’ve had genital warts for a few months now, what can be done?

Hello, I’ve had genital warts for a few months now and have been using 100% tee tree oil on them twice a day for about a month or so. I’ve been to 2 different doctors in the last few weeks who merely confirmed that i had HPV but did not prescribe anything for the warts or suggest freezing them off.

Hello. Removing genital warts is a personal decision not a medical one. You may want to treat genital warts for cosmetics reasons. Warts will go away at some time without treatment. But the virus that caused the warts will not go away. Different treatments are available including creams, acids, cryotherapy, electro cautery, laser, surgery. if you decide that removing the warts is important to you, ask your doctor which treatment is right for you. Thank you for your question.

Hi.
Genital warts are soft growths that appears on the genitals and are one of the common forms of sexually transmitted infection..

Warts generally disappear after sometime but the virus still remains so there can be multiple breakouts throughout life…

So if you wish you can proceed for the removal..

You can also try topical ointments like those containing Podophyllin and Podophilox, TCA or trichloracetic acid etc..

Hope this helps..

Regards.

I understand from these answers that the virus remains….if the warts have been treated and are gone, is the person still contagious? Or do warts have to be present in order to spread the virus?
