82 yrs old male patient suffering from MDS without blast cells and doctor suggested revolade 50 mg daily for 1 month and erythropoietin injection 40000 units weekly…it’s too costly…how about giving him blood on monthly basis…we want your suggestion whether to continue the tablets and injection which they have given or can we take him to hospital and arrange blood for him so that platelets and hb will be there for him

Hi
My opinion yes blood transfusion can be a good idea
Good luck
Hi..
Although the above medication and injection is appropriate and if the patient respond to it then it is a good sign but if needed blood transfusion can also be done..
But still first of all medication should be given so let the body make the blood cells on its own..
If it goes beyond budget then transfusion can be done after assurance with your doctor..
