What would happen if a female with a normal thyroid level took 200mcg Synthroid for weight loss?

What would happen if a female with a normal thyroid level took 200mcg Synthroid for weight loss? Would it make them go hyperthyroid if your thyroid is in the normal range? ALSO if you took it for a prolong period of time (say 3 months) would it permanently destroy your thyroid? What would happen to them?

First, This would be a very bad idea. Putting your health at risk. It could even be life threatening. Synthroid (Levothyroxine) at this dose would seriously speed up your metabolism. Your organs would jump into overdrive. In fact the harm would probably be important to all of your body not your thyroid gland. Second, yes, your speeding metabolism would probably cause weight loss, but there are other solutions for weight loss which you should consider. The use of Synthroid is not one of them.

Synthroid increases the basal metabolic rate – the activity of the lean tissues and organs.- Heart, Skin, Liver, Hair growth etc. – all would work harder and faster. If there were a heart disease predisposition, yes, there could be heart problems. If there were a kidney problem predisposition, yes, there could be kidney problems. So on and so forth. Also use overtime would cause deterioration and loss of function.
