I have what looks like a splinter hemorrhage on my thumbnail, but it runs diagonally. It measures about 2mm by .75mm. I can’t find any pictures online of diagonal lines. I’m wondering if it could still be such a hemorrhage or is likely to be something else.

Looks like a trauma induced hemorrhage. See how it progresses as thumbnail grows out. If it follows the growth of nail, nothing to be concerned about. If the spot grows in another way or enlarges you should consult.

Splinter hemorrhages look like thin, red to reddish-brown lines of blood under the nails. They run in the direction of nail growth. They are named splinter hemorrhages because they look like a splinter under the fingernail. The hemorrhages may be caused by tiny clots that damage the small capillaries under the nails.
