I have a non tender left sub mandibular lymph mode swelling,can it be cancerous??

Hiee sir,I am a dentist myself.I have a non tender left sub mandibular lymph mode swelling which is non tender. Its just palpabale the onset was sudden I don’t have any accompanying cold or anything.I have history of occasional smoking since past 4 yrs frequency less than 20 CIG per month. Can it be cancerous??

It is rarely developing cancer this way.. Even if it is sudden onset..it would be due to an inflammation or infection that is not known yet or further symptomless.. You should start by using a strong antibiotic like Augmentin for at least 5 days…if the node did not subside then you should go for US and later biopsy if only needed…

i do not think its cancerous as it is not painful. cancerous ones are usually painful and grow very rapidly. also they tend to be accompanied by systemic symptoms like weight loss,fever,anorexia etc.

THIS DOESNT SEEM TO BE CANCEROUS. DONT WORRY. ITS A WELL ENCAPSULATED CYST. GET NEEDLE BIOPSY DONE.
