I have red rashes, what can it be?

Hello, I’m writing about red rashes along one side of my butt and scrotum that I’ve had for around a week. They are painful but not severe and itchy but not as bad as a mosquito bite. You can get a better idea by looking at the photo attached. Also I’m celibate so know its not an STD, and no trauma, travel, or anything out of the ordinary has happened. Any idea whats going on? Also please respond to my email and keep confidential not posting online or to others. Thank you.

Hello. This could be intertrigo which is common in folds of body. The cause can be bacterial, viral or fungal.Other possibility is fungal infection or eczema.Keep it dry and clean.Use an antibacterial soap for bathing.Wear loose cotton undergarments.Get it examined by a doctor for accurate diagnosis and management of your condition.Best wishes!

Hi .
It is a form of Dermatitis the occurs in the folds of skin known as Interigenous Dermatitis.

It is commonly caused due to lack of air circulation, heat, moisture, friction etc..

You should apply a combination of antibiotic, antifungal and steroid ointment..
Let the area have appropriate air flow.
For this wear loose fitting clothes and cotton undergarments..
If you feel moisture you can change your inner wears twice a day.
Avoid vigorous wiping..
After bathing gently wipe and make sure the area is dry before you wear your clothes..

Hope this helps..

Regards..

Hello, based on your information and the picture provided this could be due to eczema or a fungal infection. Either ways please wash the area twice a day and pat dry every time that you wash. Wear loose undergarments and change them frequently. A complete examination in person is warranted before coming to conclusions.
