I have Temporal lobe epilepsy, I feel extremely fatigued after meals, is it Diabetes?

Hi, my name is (…), i am a 46 year old male. I have Temporal lobe epilepsy and am NOT on meds. other than that i consider myself to be in relatively good shape. i have of late started to get extremely fatigued after any meal i have. At 1st i considered Gluten intolerance, but have eliminated this as the cause by avoiding foods that contain it and also by eating a single food group at a time. eg Protein for lunch today. I am really tired and it my brain seems to be on a slow strike. This happens with every meal, I have started to avoid eating at work otherwise I cant function properly…Is this something to do with Diabetes?

This is called reactive hypoglycemia
I have the same condition
Well :
First u need to eat like 5 or 6 snacks a day ( no big meals)
Second you need to focus on vegeterian food
Third reduce sugar in diet
Especialy eating sweets on empty stomach , which btw usually is the cause of the problem to begin with

Offcourse cheching for diabetes is recommended

Good Luck

Hi and welcome to question doctors.com
It can be anaemia as your blood rushes to your stomach after eating and leaves your brain lacking oxygen..have you got a CBC done?

Hi,
this can happen due to low calcium and iron levels. Get both of them checked in blood.
Another possibility is fluctuations in blood sugar levels.
thanks

hello there
diabetes ? well seems less likely. you can confirm it by getting blood checked. but these are minor blood sugar variations that can be corrected by making a few diet changes .
consult a physician
