I started suffering from severe air sickness/motion sickness?

Dear doctor, I am a 35 year old male who’ve never had any serious health problems. However in the past few years I started suffering from severe air sickness/motion sickness whilst on long distance flights. I never had this problem when I was younger. I have taken various motion sickness tablets such as Hyoscine Hydrobromide and Cinnarizine but they don’t have much effect. Another thing I notice is I don’t get sick on my return flights usually within the time of 2 to 3 weeks from the start of the travel. So far I have no problems travelling by car, train and short boat trip. It would be great if could tell me what’s the possible cause of my travel sickness and how I can overcome it. Thank you.

Hi..
Air sickness occurs due to body at rest and perceived the same by brain but the inner ear perceive actual motion causing symptoms of nausea and other symptoms..

So it is advisable to follow a few things like avoid eating heavy meals immediately before the flight..
Keep well hydrated.
Take sufficient rest..
Avoid alcohol and other drugs..
Talk to a Physician and take medication appropriately..

Hope this helps..

Hi..
Seat selection should be either near the wings of the front of the plane and that too window seat as they experience less movement.
