Hi my wife and I are trying to have a baby. She had a miscarriage last year. Her TVS result indicated that there is no heartbeat. After that she had been trying to get pregnant until now. Today I had semen analysis just to make sure I have contributed my part . I am concerned about my ph of 8.5 is my result okay? I uploaded my sperm analysis report.

Hi
Your PH is 8.5 which means you may have infection, weird thing is this report did not mention if there is pus in your semen or not, so I recommend having a semen culture to check for infection, especially if you have pain during or after ejaculation
As for your wife check her TSH levels, baby heart beat stop can be due to TSH less than 0.3
Good Luck
Hi,
This could be a result of infection of genitourinary tract that infection can affect motility and conception, so a sperm and urine culture should be done..
Hi..
Normal pH of semen can be 7.1-8.0.
If it is more than that it is commonly due to Infection..
So better consult a Urologist and get evaluated.
Semen culture, urine culture and CBC should be done to begin with
Regards.
Am I the only one who noticed 1.3 BILLION sperm per mL? I’m thinking you need a new analysis. This is likely a lab math error from a manual count using a hemocytometer. A count this high is not a normal thing. The pH is also pretty high.
