Yesterday morning I woke in excruciating pain in my left thigh, now cannot move my leg at all?

Hello..I am a 46 year old mother. I am about 50 pounds overweight but no medical concerns or problems. I am on no medication. For about 2 weeks I have experienced numbness on my right thigh that has been bothersome but not too painful. Yesterday morning I woke in excruciating pain in my left thigh the. Within an hour after I got up my whole left leg stopped working. I cannot move it at all. I can’t raise it, slide it..I can’t move it at all. It’s not locked in place it’s just….there. painfully there. Constant pain, not cramping. I cannot put pressure on it at all cause it buckles with just the slightest pressure. Should I go have this checked or should I wait to see if it will resolve on its own..it’s been a day and a half and no change yet.

Hi and welcome to question doctors .com
This needs to be checked of course asap it could be a neurologic /vascular problem..
Disc lesion /vascular occlusion ..
So you should get examined in ER and MRI is necessary for your back..

You may be having an acute lumbar disc problem .
You have to see a neurologist.
A MRI image for your lumbar region will help the diagnosis.

The quick onset of the problem suggest sustained pressure on your sciatic nerve which is possible if your slim
Also DVT could cause similar symptoms
Try first to stand on one leg in warm room for 30 min
If that does not work then u should rush to see a vascularity doctor
