My hip has been “locking up” and giving out occasionally?

My hip has been hurting for about 10 days now. I’m a 16 year old female. I play soccer. It’s also was popping in between my groin and hip flexor with a pain deep in there along with it “locking up” and giving out occasionally. Now the pain is mainly deep in my outer hip around the head of my femur bone and deep in my lower buttock. It hurts to run/briskly walk. Or walk for a while. It now progressed to hurting deep in my outer hip even when I’m just laying on my bed. It cracks 3-4 times when I swing my leg outward. The pain in my hip is very achy when I’m not putting it in use. Then it goes into sharp pains when I’m using it. Ive been able to dislocate my hip completely and very easily forever.

Hi and welcome to questiondoctors.com
Your hip must be x.rayed Asap and if a dislocation is discovered it needs to be reduced back close reduction by an orthopedist.. Then you have to follow a strict regimen of physiotherapy for about 3 months to strength .stretch.regain range and stability and muscle power… Balance and proprioceptive training is so crucial in treatment..
Avoid adducting and internally rotating your hip and do not try to dislocate it as this has many dangerous complications…start with rest.ice. and visiting an orthopedist AsAp

hi
a 16 years old young female should not have such a dislocatable hip.It suggests laxity and weakness of the surrounding ligaments. Before it started hurting 10 days ago,you may have strained / injured one of the hip ligaments causing you these symptoms. An MRI should be helpful in giving a clear idea as to whats wrong inside.

HI
YOU MAY HAVE INJURED ILIOPSOAS MUSCLE AT ITS INSERTION. ITS VERY COMMON IN PLAYERS LIKE YOU TO DAMAGE THIS. YOU SHOULD TAKE ADEQUATE REST. ANTI INFLAMMATORY TABLETS AND LOCAL GEL WILL HELP. XRAY AND MRI WILL HELP TO FIND OUT THE EXACT DIAGNOSIS

hello there
you may be having congenital lax ligaments. Conditions like Ehler- Danlos syndrome have to be ruled out. Present pain can be due to hip joint capsular over-stretching during playing. Any manouvere causing abnormal stretching / twisting of the capsular fibres can result in pain. Bony injury seems less likely.
take analgesics and muscle relaxants
