I was born with a trigger thumb, had another steroid injection hurting pretty badly?

I am 22 years old, female, and was born with a trigger thumb. First I was given a steroid injection in my thumb that didn’t help. After that I had the trigger thumb release surgery about 4 months ago. For the past 2 months my thumb has been bothering me again and the tendon is swollen like it was before I had the surgery. I went back to my surgeon and he gave me another steroid injection that is actually still hurting pretty badly. Just curious to see if anyone has had issues similar to mine after having the trigger thumb release surgery.

Your problem is chronic and steroids long term therapy is harmful ..
This is why I recommend trying modalities that can help u on daily basis life time until you feel it is OK…
Physiotherapy :laser ultrasound hydrotherapy contrast baths iontophresis ..and anti inflammatory gels ..thumb support splint in severe flare ups ..massage..all are possibly will cause progression to better living with that problem.

Steroid injections is temporary and will reduce the chance that physical therapy can help
Also do not consided repeating surgery cuz during the post surgical healing period it comes back worse
Physical therapy will take some time but will help very much
Focus on wax , exercise and ultrasound

hi
surgical release of a trigger finger should give permanent relief from pain. if u are getting recurrent pains even after surgery,it means that the surgery hasn’t been done properly.
re-exploration should be done.
thanks
