Had inguinal hernia that went deep into my scrotum for many years, had open repair surgery 4 days ago. Is it okay that the scrotum is swollen and filled with fluid so much that it appears that the hernia is still there?

yes, its normal. the swelling will gradually go away in about 3 weeks. it happens in almost all cases of operated hernias that have been long standing
