I am a dancer, my ankle gets weak?

Hello. My ankle has been weak for a while now. Sometimes it gets swollen but mostly it starts aching and goes weak. When I have my ankle support on it isn’t as weak, also I am a dancer. What is the cause of this?

Hi
Dancers really have common problems due to the increased mobility of their ligaments…
this causes their ligaments to be weak and increases the load over the bones, joints and weak poor muscles, the solution is your have to support your ankles… but how?
supporting your ankles can be done with strengthening the muscles of the ankle joint,in all directions… and reducing over weight if found…and one of the best solutions is using a kinesio tape done bey a professional Physiotherapist who can apply it correctly to your ankles…

HEY
THESE PROBLEMS ARE DUE TO WEAK ANKLES AND THE SURROUNDING SOFT TISSUES AROUND IT. THIS CAN BE CONTROLLED BY ANKLE EXERCISES. APPLY ANKLE CAP DURING DANCING. ALSO CONFIRM IF YOUR BONES ARE STRONG ENOUGH. GET BONE CALCIUM TESTED.

Hi
If wearing ankle support does not cause much discomfort that means the ankle are weak. It may be due to weak muscles or ligaments or both.
Hot fomentation with local gel application may help when pain is more.
You should get ankle muscles and ligaments strengthened from a physiotherapist.
Thanks
