broke femur almost 6 mths i can walk little hobble here and there but not able to get to put socks on left foot i work and need todo this ive had little physio seems at times just given exercise sheet sent away todo it seems like pulling at top of leg if i try to do certain exercises but is this just me being little bit scared and need to push it a little bit more so leg muscles exercise and this would help how long is this break suppose to take some say im young and it should return to what i was like pre to accident should i exercise every day ???? ive a cheap bike in spare room trying to go on this too?
Your first step is you should do a recent xray to know the bone status …is is healed well or there is any union abnormality..
let an orthopedist or physiotherapist test your muscles and the length of your femur and lower limb…
then you can keep doing your exercises and physiotherapy normally with no worries and even work as u have used too…
hi.. the broken bone may have united till now, but it takes almost 6-9 months for it to regain its original strength. So,till then its normal to have the symptoms that you are presently experiencing. During the healing phase, due to prolonged immobilastion and disuse, the muscles in the surrounding regions are atrophied,weak and stiff. And i feel,that the exercises havent been done properly. you can do cycling,swimming or any leg exercises that the physio has given you. THE BONE IS IN EARLY STAGES OF HEALING AND THIS CAN CAUSE THESE PRESENT SYMPTOMS. MORE SO IF YOUR BONES HAVE BEEN WEAK OR LOW ON CALCIUM. YOU CAN START ON CALCIUM TABLETS. THE RECOVERY TIME MAY VARY UPON THE EXERCISES YOU DO AND HOW ACTIVELY YOU RESPOND TO PHYSIOTHERAPY
