I had a ct scan of ear as well as opacity in mastoid it said soft tissue attenuation in middle ear cleft I am waiting for a hospital appointment my doc did not explain what the soft tissue comment could be I am worried could this be a tumor?

hi..
soft tissue attenuation does not necessarily mean that it is a tumour. Over it, the location of the soft tissue mentioned in the report isnt common for tumors to occur. This can be a simple soft tisue growth from the surrounding structures. The ent specialist will guide you better. But for, me ,it doesnt seem to be a tumour. Do let me know what the doctor has to say.

TUMOUR IS JUST A POSSIBILITY. THERE ARE MANY OTHER SUCH SIMILAR LESIONS THAT MAY SHOW SIMILAR FINDINGS ON A CT.
THE FINDINGS SHOULD BE CORRELATED CLINICALLY WITH THE SYMPTOMS. SUCH LESIONS HAVE GOOD PROGNOSIS
