I am a 22 year old female. When I was younger I had mastoiditis. I was hospitalized , and had to get tubes put in my ears.
For about two weeks I have had a yellowish brownish color of drainage coming out of my ear that smells like infection . Today and a week ago there has been blood coming out of it , not gushing blood ,but blood like a pinkish color . I have also been having headaches.

the mastoiditis seems to have recurred and may have spread to your middle or inner ear. You should not be neglecting it and consult a ent specialist straight away. Get an otoscopy done to look for the source of the discharge and blood. Maintain hydration. drink plenty of fruit juices.

You may be suffering from infection in your ears…having initially a brown discharge may have been normal wax but having pink discharge may indicate ear drum infection or barotrauma that needs to be examined by ENT specialist and specific antibiotics would be prescribed…
Have you recently used q.tip or any other tool to clean your ears??

THIS DOESN’T SEEM TO BE RELATED TO THE MASTOIDITIS THAT YOU HAD IN THE PAST. IT MAY BE A ACUTE / CHRONIC SEPTIC OTITIS MEDIA,MEANING AN INFECTION OF THE MIDDLE EAR. IT NEEDS THOROUGH DEBRIDEMENT AND DRAINAGE. YOU MAY NEED TO BE STARTED ON ANTIBIOTICS. EAR DROPS MAY HELP TO SOME EXTENT. CONSULT A OTORHINOLOGIST

the inner ear and the middle ear are infected. The purulent discharge is mixed with blood and is getting drained out. wipe the discharge gently with soft cotton buds every 3 hourly. take care you do not damage the ear drum. antibiotics taken for 3-5 days should bring the discharge down considerably
