Hi
Is this x ray 8 years ago ?
If yes you have malunioned fibula fracture causing osteoarthritis in contact with ankle joint , inflamation on lateral (outside) aspect of ankle can cause numbness as it is close to anterior tibial nerve , the tibial nail and screws have nothing to do with your pain.
I recommend physical therapy or surgical reconstruction of fibula.
Good Luck

I am afraid that numbness could be caused by peroneal nerve compression by the screws ..you need to see an orthopedic surgeon for revision of the current status as ..if it is OK to remove the rod and screws … I think you have gained weight recently and that could be a cause.. Try to lose weight also as possible ..increase your calcium intake..vitamin D..

hi,
the fracture seems to be united and you need removal of those 3 screws and rod.
This will provide much relief from the pain and numbness.
numbness can also be due to vitamin B12 deficiency.
Get its blood levels checked and start on vitamin supplements depending upon the results.
thanks
