Is it possible to have a fractured ankle with no bruising/swelling?

Is it possible to have a fractured ankle with no bruising/swelling? I’ve sprained my other ankle in the past, and doesn’t feel the same. I fell, heard and felt a crack, and immediately felt really nauseous. Lots of pain if I try to move it or walk on it, but zero external indicators. It’s mostly a dull ache that sometimes radiates up calf and under arch. Burning sensation and a bit of numbness if I try to bear weight on it.

hi
any fracture will always have bruise and swelling.
even if you have heard nd felt a crack, it doesnt mean you have fracture. a grade 3 ligament tear will have these kind of symptoms.

do get a xray/mri to assess the internal injury. should not be neglected. consult a orthopedist.
thanks

Hi
That would be a sublaxated or dislocated bone in your ankle complex…
i dont think a fracture would happen without any external signs…
doing an xray is going to tell u exactly what happened..

HI
ITS RARE BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE.
A FRACTURE WITHOUT BRUISE OR SWELLING IS POSSIBLE IF THE FRACTURE IS A MINOR OR HAIRLINE INCOMPLETE TYPE. COMPLETE DISPLACED FRACTURES ARE ALMOST ALWAYS ACCOMPANIED BY SWELLING AND BRUISE. AN XRAY WILL CONFIRM .

Four weeks ago I was trying to take lid off my personal drink bottle that has a spout for drinking. The lid was on right so l used both hands twisting different ways. All of a sudden there was a really loud CRACK l felt sick and nearly passed out. There has never been at swelling or bruising but some slight pain in humerus so I thought I had just done damage to muscle decided to take paracetamol and rest arm. Everything was fine for there weeks until one day I went to get up off sofa after a nap… Read more »
