My 50 year brother did a chest X-ray that came back with the following result: Moderately Enlarged Cardiac Size with CTR =0.57. Unfolded Aortic Arch. Increased Hilar Bronchia Markings. No Obvious Bone Fracture Or Dislocation. No obvious Effusion. Impression: Cardiomypathy (HHD) with Associated Chest Infection. Please what does this mean and what do we do next. Finding are relatively normal with old age , however he will need further investigation like heart CT scan , thyroid profile ECG and echo to make sure he is okay
Also he should be instructed to stop drinking(alcohol) and smoking as these findings at the age of 50 is kinda early

A CTR of more than 0.50 is considered cardiomegaly..
Although reading is not so much varied but still needs further examination like Echo cardiogram done..
Also limit excess salt intake and heavy strenuous work.
However doing moderate work, regular walking, healthy diet and keeping stress minimal help in keeping heart healthier..
