My 13 year old daughter has been having a shooting pain on the top right of her head?

My 13 year old daughter has been having a shooting pain on the top right of her head since last march or april. The spot was probably about a inch big. When we first noticed it there was a bump but it went away within a month so we didnt worry about it until a few months later. The doctor had us follow up to take her for a MRI but they did not find anything so we left it alone and a few weeks to a month later, the dot extended to about three inches and goes to the back right of her head. We do not know rather to follow up with the doctor again or leave it alone because they did not find anything in the MRI . Is there any other tests they could do? What could it be?

Hi
In my opinion if MRI is clear then you should check her psychological aspect, see if pain is related to stress or depression, top head pain is usually related to high blood pressure but not in a 13 years old , also recent period and hormonal changes can cause top head pain occasionally
Good Luck

This pain would relate to stress or psychological disorder, since MRI is ok then there is no need to worry,,could be misleading scalp pain, try head massage and relaxation techniques,.

hi,
MRI almost rules out every organic cause related to the brain.
If this has been done, then there is nothing to worry.
It may be a neuritic pain.
Methycobalamin and calcium tablets will help.
Gentle coconut oil massage every night before sleeping will help.
Thanks

I’d rather not worry you further and, I’m no doctor, but I’m concerned. My aunt had this problem before I was even born. Her shooting pain was an Aneurysm. I’ve been told Aneurysms don’t have an age limit; though, I don’t know how credible that is. It’s a blood vessel in the brain that broke. I’d follow up with a doctor immediately. Another thing I would suggest is seeing a neurologist. She may have a nerve condition. Anyway, I’m not sure you’ll even see this. However, I hope I helped and that your daughter gets well.
