My granddaughter has an awful sore, doctor doesn’t know what it was?

My granddaughter came over for the weekend with this awful sore on her side. Her parents said they took her to the doctor and were told that they didn’t know what it was to put antibiotic cream on it. You should be able to see the small red dot next to the big sore. That red dot is starting to look like the other one. Any ideas on what it could be?
