I began to have pain in my left hip, across my stomach and in my left groin?

I am a 69 year old male, the week before Thanksgiving i fell down my front steps ,I was able to get up without any difficulties. The next day I began to have pain in my left hip, across my stomach and in my left groin. I went to my Doctor and an x-Ray of my pelvis was ordered and obtained ,the x-Ray showed no fractures or anything that would cause the pain. The pain was still present after a month, I contacted my Doctor, a order for a cat scan was ordered, the scan showed no fracture or any other reason why the pain is still present, it has been three months since the fall and the pain is still an issue,my Doctor says that the next step is a MRI, Any ideas on what the problem is.

Hi
Problem can be inguinal ligament strain, it is uncommon and usually misdiagnosed (pain increase with external rotation), also hip osteoporosis or osteoarthritis can show same pain (especially with hip flexed)
Good Luck

In my opinion you may injured soft tissue lime torn or strained ligament or tendon which will show up in the MRI ..

hi,
there may be some muscular injury related to the hip or a ligament injury.
Such issues are not seen on Xrays.
MRI will show any minor abnormality and is definitely indicated in this case.
thanks

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

In case if there is no fracture then the pain can be related to nerve related causes like nerve compression, nerve trauma etc..

Consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated..

As of now take pain relievers like Ibuprofen and muscle relaxants..
Do hot fomentations and apply muscle relaxant gels..

Hope this helps..

I believe it’s just a muscle strain or inflammation of pelvic muscles and ligaments, u need to rest, take anti-inflammatory medication s, muscle relaxant, pain killers…for few days,

Then will wait for your feedback

Hope this helps
