I had accident, whiplash, pain in shoulder and collar bone?

Hi. I am a 28 year old female and was involved in a car accent 10 months ago where a drive ran into the back of me and have occurred whiplash injures from this accident..

the injuries are still ongoing and have put in an injury claim. 10 months on, I am still experiencing slight tenderness in my right shoulder and collar bone. 3 weeks ago i notice the top of my right shoulder was swollen, it has calmed down now although as we speak I am still in slight pain at my collar bone, i m not sure if this is serious as i have went back to my gp who advised just to take ibuprofen and continue with shoulder exercises.

should i be worrying about my collar bone as i googled this and could be broken? but i have not had any type of xray at all for my injuries.

Do not worry..
Slight pain is normal specially if fading away..
You need to do shoulder exercise and avoid strenuous activities..
If you experience any of these symptoms then you need to do a recent xray …;
Numbness in the arms
Pain increasing in arms or chest.
Color change or cold limb.

hi
its rather surprising that you havent been advised an xray after the accident. any trauma should be followed by xray/mri. at present it feels that you may have some sort of ligament injury around shoulder and collar bone. just taking pain killers wont help. get mri / xray done.
hot fomentation,physiotherapy will help.
thanks

HI
BROKEN BONES WOULD HAVE HEALED BY NOW.IT USUALLY TAKES 30-40 DAYS FOR ANY BONE TO HEAL.
IT SEEMS TO BE A MUSCULAR OR A NERVE RELATED PROBLEM. YOU SHOULD CONSULT ORTHO SPECIALIST

hello there
its less likely to be a bony pain. a pinched nerve or local soft tissue inflammation seems to be a cause,. if medicines dont help, then a local steroid injection shot at the painful area will be of use
