Never suffered from acne so maybe it’s a

Any insect bite? Or new soap?
Many causes can show exact same rash like HIV, staff infection, allergic dermatitis or flea bites

Yes, it can be either due to infection or allergic reaction causing dermatitis..
You can consult an Emergency room and get evaluated.
You can apply an antibiotic ointment along with benadryl cream over it..
Do cool compresses..
Avoid applying any harsh chemical cosmetics over the skin..
