Female, 22. i constantly feel abdominal discomfort everyday whether its bloating, diarrhea, or pain in abdomen after bowel movement. the diarrhea is not the type that makes you going in and out of toilet for that several times, sometimes its just the consistency even though sometimes i need to go for 2-3 times a day. The pain after bm usually subside in 30-1hour. no appetite lost, i even eat more bcs im worried that if my stomach empty it will hurt more. No weight lost. Ive gone to the doctor, and he said that the physical exam is good, and it might be h pylori so i got tested but it came back negative. Im afraid that i have to do the endoscopy, and my parents don’t really agree with me taking such an invasive test and think that this symptom is not something worth worrying. But im afraid with the long term effect of this condition. What should i do? Is it something serious?
Your complain may indicate irritable bowel syndrome ..nothing to worry much..
Just eat healthy foods high fibers..
Avoid junks and fatty.
Walk and exercise.
Don’t worry ..
You will just need some hot drinks like (chamomile tea & ginger root tea).
Hot pack “very warm”, will relax muscles and relieving you of dreadful discomfort. Walk, listen relaxing music, and some yoga will really help.
THIS ISNT SOMETHING SERIOUS. ITS GASTRITIS. DOCTOR MAY JUST WANT TO CONFIRM ABOUT ANY PEPTIC ULCER OR REFLUX DISEASE. GETTING AN ENDOSCOPY DONE IS NOT COMPULSORY. JUST TAKE ANTACIDS AND PROBIOTIC MEDICINES
your parents are right. its not that alarming that you may need such invasive investigation so early. have a step by step approach. make some changes in your diet initially, take a few antispasmodic tablets if the discomfort becomes more . if at all, you do not see any improvement, then you can always go for endoscopy.
its better to get yourself diagnosed once and for all. instead of guessing and trying all the new things, it should always be better to get the investigation done and see whats wrong. its not an emergency though.
its a safe and non painful procedure. dont worry
