I have found a large hard lump on the right side of my groin. I noticed it a few weeks ago. I thought it might be a cyst at first and as I’m a veterinary nurse I used a needle and syringe to see if I could drain it but there is no fluid or puss coming back. It’s getting more painful and irritating. Not sure if it’s something I should be concerned about. Was hoping it might have gone down by now if it was just a flare up of a lymph node. I’m female and 27 – not pregnant

Hi
This is a lymph node most likely, you need to have a sample taken by aspiration to be examined to check the inflammation cause , I recommend that you take it seriously
Good Luck
Aspitlrating the lump was a wrong thing to be done , US should be done and also formal examination
If it is painful then it is good sign but it needs to be examined , what color is it ,skin color or otherwise?
It is mostly lymph node that could be secondary to infection ..
Is there any other group of lymph nodes enlarged elsewhere in your body, try to check it by yourself .. this is imp.
Hi..
Yes it can be an infected lymph node and for confirmation consult a Physician and get a clinical examination done..
If there is any doubt ultrasound will be advised..
As of now do cool compresses over it and take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen..
Hope this helps..
