I have recently been declared disabled, I have not slept over 2 or 3 hours at night, doc says no lorazapm?

Im 57 years old, I have recently been declared disabled, I have major depression, anxiety, arthritis, chronic pain, 3 bulging disc with a pinched nerve, insomia, had to go through marketplace for a doctor, my medication is 100 mg of sertraline, 400 mg gabapentin, and 1 mg of lorazapam 2 x day. My doctor a week ago refused to give me my lorazapam, I was given this for anxiety and insomia, I have not slept over 2 or 3 hours at night, since, along with sweating, being over all terrible, I called her office, she said you cant take with pain meds(…) please help. I dont know what to do.

Hi and welcome to question doctors .com
Even if your doctor did not want you to get these medications for z reason she must have withdrawn them gradually be decreasing the dose overtime..
Any way consult a different psychologist for the need to take these medicines ..
Start asap yoga and meditation they are more useful and helpful than these drugs..
Deep breathing exercise also is good.

Unfortunately all drugs related to insomnia has drug interaction with pain killers
Ask your doctor if you can use atarax it will help you sleep with less chance of drug interactions
Good Luck

hi
if lorazepam is not possible, try taking other safer anxiolytics that may help you to some extent in getting sound sleep.
you seem to be under lot of stress.
try de-stressing exercises and meditation.
thanks

hello there

insomnia usually sets in at your age. mental stress is usually a associated factor. anxiolytic medicines can help you get sleep but your body will get dependant and addicted. instead try and get your normal sleep back by yoga
