MY FINGER GOT INFECTED, I WENT TO DOCTOR 3 WEEKS AGO AND GOT ANTIBIOTICS, 2 KINDS, AND A SHOT, WAS OFF WORK FOR 7 DAYS, THEN HAD TO GO BACK, NOW MY FINGERNAIL IS ABOUT TO FALL OFF AND MY JOB REQUIRES I PICK UP CHICKENS DAILY, NIGHTLY, 24/7 AND MY FINGER IS NOT HEALING. BEFORE ANTIBIOTICS, I HAD PUS, AND FINGER WAS DISCOLORED AND SWOLLEN HORRIBLY, NOW SOME SWELLING, BUT REALLY SORE, AND FINGERNAIL IS JUST KIND OF HANGING ON. I HAVE BEEN SOAKING IT IN WARM SALT WATER, WITH A BIT OF VINEGAR. I AM AFRAID I WILL HAVE TO MISS A COUPLE WEEKS WORK IN ORDER TO LET THIS HEAL COMPLETELY, WHAT CAN I DO, I REALLY CANNOT AFFORD TO MISS, BUT I CANNOT AFFORD FOR MY FINGER TO FALL OFF EITHER, I STILL HAVE ABOUT 3 DAYS LEFT ON MY ANTIBIOTICS.

Do not worry your finger will be fine , your finger nail may fall which is normal
U should only be worried if your finger turn black or if pus is green

It is very important for the wound to heal first..if you can’t get a short period off work then you need to stay on the antibiotics and keep the wound dry and clean… Bivatracin spay is an antibiotic to help wound dryness and clean..
You may need to cover the wound by gauze and cotton during work to avoid further infection …it is OK to lose a finger nail as your body will produce a new one after the infection subsides by time..

Dont worry. Take proper care of the nail bed wound.
Dress it aseptically with daily dressings,apply mupirocin ointments.
Take anti fungal tablets if the infection is more.
Once the infection is under control,you will get a new nail soon.

SUCH INFECTIONS ARE NOT DEADLY AND SHOULD NOT BE WORRIED ABOUT.
THOUGH IT TAKES LOT OF TIME FOR SUCH INFECTIONS TO HEAL,IT WONT CAUSE ANY HARM TO YOUR FINGER AS SUCH.
APPLY ANTI FUNGAL LOCAL CREAMS AND MAINTAIN GOOD HYGIENE
