get a chest Xray,sputum examination and complete blood count done.

CBC test and thyroid profile ..
Sputum culture if sputum exists .
Do him ,please, tuberculin test, full check up
CBC, LFT, KFT, thyroid profile, RBS, CXR

You should get his chest x-ray done along with Sputum culture, complete blood picture, hormonal profile etc..
Also please tell that does he has any medical problems like diabetes, blood pressure etc..
And since how long are the symptoms present?

Do a chest x ray and sputum culture, this could be a sever chest infection, may be even T.B
