I have swelling of the paratoid gland, face is noticeably swallon on the right side on the law line right in front of the ear, i am not sick nor have been for month’s, it is painful, cant open mouth to full extent, headaches and what feels like alot of pressure as well
I have had this for 4 days now.
Any ideas what has caused this and how soon i should seek medical help?
hi,
this can be parotid gland inflammation / infection or pre-auricular lymphadenopathy.
take anti inflammatory tablets with antibiotics for 3 days.
If this does not help, consult a ENT surgeon and get an MRI done.
thanks
Hi..
It looks like Infection in the parotid gland that can be viral or bacterial in origin..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and investigation like x ray, saliva culture, salivary amylase can help in ruling out the exact cause and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now take a combination of anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and acetaminophen.
Do cool compresses over the cheek..
Hope this helps..
That could be many possibilities either teeth related or parotid ..so I recommend a ct scan then let us see whatvis going on.. A biopsy could be needed also if parotid is involved..
Hi
This is sialadenitis it is clearly not due to infection, probably due to dehydration I recommend using anti inflammatory + doing lots of water (3 liters per day)
And warm compression pads
If it does not improve then you should seek medical assistant as it would indicate blockage of ducts
Good Luck
How old are you please and what’s your gender.. ?
