I was in contact with a Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) patient?

Yesterday I was in contact with a Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) patient. He put his hand on my head to pray for me about three minutes or so. He did not touch me anywhere else and I had my gown and gloves on. He was diagnosed with MRSA by nasal swab. Am I infected? How can I get tested to find out if I am? I know the signs and symptoms of MRSA and do not have any, but I’m just afraid I am infected know.

hi,
unless there was any mucosal contact i dont think you may have acquired any infection.
If you have your own strong internal immunity, minimal infection wont cause an active flare within you.

if you get any signs or symptoms, then you can get a complete blood profile checked.
thanks

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Well, MRSA is most commonly transmitted via coming in contact with open wound of infected individual however it can also be air borne or can occur by touching..

In case if you do not have any symptoms then you need not to worry as it is not necessary that you are Infected..

But for confirmation you can get a blood and nasal swab culture done for diagnosis..

Hope this helps..

Hi
Is his Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus a skin infection?
The incubation period can be from 1 day to 10 days , tests can be done depending on this patient infected system
Good Luck

There is no need to worry since no infection signs exist, you can get staph even from air, so just keep well hygienic level and use chlorohexidine antiseptics as preventive eradication measure..
