My 69 year old mother who has been blind for over a year in her left eye, her iris is now completely black?

My 69 year old mother who has been blind for over a year in her left eye due to an injury she suffered from sneezing to hard over two years ago. She went to an eye doctor last year when she lost sight in her eye. He said there was nothing they could do. So no problems until last night. She had a headache and took some medicine to stop it. When I brought her dinner I noticed her iris in the left eye was completely black. The white of her eye is still there. She said this morning she feels fine. Her iris is still black. Do I seek help for her?

In my opinion you should take it seriously as it may be just temporal change in eye blood pressure , pigmentary glucoma or even melanosis that can progress to melanoma ( cancerous )
Other possibilities include addison but have described non of its symptoms
I recommend that she goes to her ophthalmologist

Good Luck

hi
if she has no symptoms then i do not feel there is need to take her to doctor.Anyway, her eyesight has been lost so no point in examination until she has any other associated symptoms.
thanks

HI
THIS MAY BE A PIGMENTATION ISSUE. IF SHE IS SAYING THAT ITS FINE WITH HER NOW,THEN I DO NOT FEEL THAT SHE NEEDS A CONSULTATION.
I WOULD SUGGEST TO WAIT FOR A FEW DAYS AND SEE FOR THE PROGRESS

hello there
the blackness may be due to necrosis of the iris . this may have occured due to reduced blood supply.
consult a opthalmologist
