You need to know the reason for your knee effusion , is it arthritis , bursitis , meniscal injury ?
Treating effusion without treating the reason for it is pointless .
Alternative to effusion aspiration there is always elevation lympatic drainage massage and electrical stimulation + strengthning of quadriceps muscle
Good Luck

hi,
scientifically speaking, aspiration or getting the fluid drained through key hole surgery is not advisable due to high chances of recurrence and knee stiffness.
you can apply compression bandage, take rest and anti inflammatory tablets with knee exercises.

only if the swelling is tense and severe, then key hole drainage surgery is recommended.
thanks

Surgery is not the ideal solution for your case as you must treat the underlying condition which can be meniscial injury or acl injury or other.
In all cases physical therapy should be given a try before proceeding to aspiration.
Try kinesiotaping for lymphatic drainage.

HI
IF THE SWELLING AND FLUID IS MORE,THEN YES,YOU NEED DRAINAGE.
INSTEAD OF KEY HOLE, GO FOR ASPIRATION AND LOCAL STEROID INJECTION SHOT INSIDE THE JOINT.
ASPIRATED MATERIAL SHOULD BE SENT FOR CHEMICAL EXAMINATION.

hello there
first, the cause of the fluid accumulation needs to be established.
better to avoid surgeries.
laser therapy should be tried.
no surgery is needed for laser therapy and results are quite impressive.
