Is TENS (E-stim) safe to use for prostate?

Question: 29 M. Is (estim) safe? I have been using a TENS unit for estim, but not applying the pads directly to the testes. I put one pad on the base of the penis and the other on the buttocks or by the anus. The TENS unit I have puts out 6 milliamps of current at a max of 70v. I have not seen any articles online saying that it is not safe, with the exception to the source below.
“Lateral electrical surface stimulation therapy has been found to destroy Leydig cells”
(Bomba G, Kowalski IM, Szarek J, Zarzycki D, Pawlicki R (2001).Link to original research article: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11386010.
Will doing estim on the prostate gland be safe (with an approved electric estim prostate stimulator or TENS unit power to the toy)? Is electrical current from an electro-sex toy harmful to the prostate gland? Are there any risks of infertility or harm with prolonged use? I will attach a picture of my TENS unit. Thanks.

Answer:
Hi..
Thanks for the query.
Well, there are no evidences of Infertility or other drawbacks like injury to testicles with the use of Estimmers..
They are designed to stimulate the prostate for handfree ejeculations..
It should be placed as such to provide proper stimulation to the prostate and for targeting the same it should be placed with one pad above the penis and other in the anal region..
Hope this helps..
Regards..

hi,
yes it is safe and has no reported side effects.
electrodes need to be placed above penis, below and behind the testicles for better results.
thanks

Hi,
You can consider tens is the most safe pain relief modality ,if used properly, the electrode placement should be either on the lower back and rectal ,or above the penis and under the testicles..

Hi
There is no evidence that tens can harm your testicles in any way, for prostate pain you should apply electrodes behind your testicles and just above penis
Good Luck

Regarding your question,
As per practicing, it’s okay as it’s widely used now and giving promising results, but evidence based wise , no conclusive studies has identified whether it’s hundred percent safe or not…
